this photo can be recreated by taking a crowd of people in the hallway and singling out a couple having an intamate moment. I could use the main hall because thats where i can get the most people.

1] what specifically is the purpose of heisler's photographs? is it simply vanity-driven or does it perform a deeper function?
A:I think the photo has a much deeper meaning as well as all of Hiesler's photos, his photos shows peoples lives and there personality
2] as many of heisler's photos are made for specific stories or magazine covers they have a specific look, but are they fundementally different from gordon parks' "american gothic"?
A:Heisler's photos are more positive and try to show good in the world, whiles Park's photos try to show the negetive aspect.
3] pick the portrait of the actor hugh grant from the prophoto.com website and critique it for content, purpose, and effectiveness.
A:This portrait of Hugh Grant shows a sense of calm mundaneness in a restaurant. the lighting on him is nice but I don't really like the expression on his face, it makes the picture look too depressing.

3] comparisons and contrasts to grant wood's "american gothic"
A: both plain, Ella and the man in the painting look very stern. both symbolize american culture
