Final:

Aperture- controls how much light is being let in the camera for the picture.
Shutter- opens to allow light to hit the film and take the picture.
Burning and dodging- when you cover part of photo for a short time of the printing process to lighten it.
Under-exposure- when not enough light hits the film so it's poorly defined.
Rembrandt lighting- when there is a little triangle of light on the side of the face opposite the light source.




This photo is a good example of Burning and Dodging because the original was much darker where the lighthouse was, so I burned and dodged it so the subject of the photo was much lighter and more visible and clearer.

This photo is a good example of portraiture because it has a person posing in a studio and I used lighting techniques to make the picture better. This print is well lit and the shadows are very nice.





This is a good example of an Abstract photo because there is no staged set up and all of the lines and shapes are random, while some line draw you to the subject of the photo. This print came out well with good detail and good use of line.




This photo (one of my favorites) is good example landscape because of use of a large area with a foreground and background. The details of the trees and leaves really make the picture look nice. This print is well developed although my only regret is that the contrast isn't as nice as it could be.






This photo is a good example of documentary because it shows something in it's natural environment doing something is does every day, it also shows calmness and sureness in the world. This is a good print because the subject came out clear and detailed and he is in the middle of the frame so it makes a good set up.



This is also a good example of documentary because it too shows someone in their natural everyday routine. This print shows good use of my surroundings and shows something happening that happens every day. This is good print because it came out better lit than I thought it would be. You can also pick out details of the background and get to know the office settings

The person that Brandon and I chose for our biography was, Mark Seliger,
Mark was born 1959 in Amarillo Texas. In 1987 he got his first job with the Rolling Stone magazine at the age of 28. According to our sources we couldn’t find any important influences for Mark Seliger, although we did find many people who were influenced by him. One of the good major contemporaries at the time Seliger was a known photographer was Richard Goodall. Mark Seliger likes to photograph many things, particularly every major face of contemporary music and society today. In order for Mark Seliger to take the good photographs he does, he tries to develop a relationship with the subjects to relax them in order to get a better more realalistic photographs. Mark Seliger took many photographs for GQ and Vanity fair, as well as wrote many books such as , “In my stairwell”, “Lenny Kravits”, “Physiognomy” , “when they came to take my father.” And “Taboo Mation Portraits of celeberty body art.” Other publication contributions were rolling stone magazine.
Mark Seliger has influenced many people since he as become a photographer. His work has inspired many generations to becoming photographers. We belive mark seligers work is very influential in our desire to become photographers. We think that the whole world should get to see his work and understand his creative mind. We think his style of photography is very well thought out and planned.
